Two Shades Of White Six Months Apart

In re-organizing my photos I stumbled on one taken in May when we were biking near Nokomis Lake in Minneapolis, and one taken yesterday on my hike up Mt Sentinel near Missoula. The beauty in both of them (well, besides Laurie that is) is the brilliant white with textured patterns, a work of nature's paint brush. One is spring flowers while the other is thick frost from ice fog...world's apart!

King of the Bitteroots

Taking Kenai for a walk yesterday I got carried away and was gradually suckedto the top of the mountain that overlooks our town. Hills have a way of doing that. It's the first time Kenai - who is 77 in dog years - made it to the top. Proud of my Kenai girl! The sun came out, revealing the Bitteroot range of to the southwest. Took this picture of my Kenai girl, regal as can be, reining over the Bitteroot valley on her well-deserved rest.

Uncle Tom's Lights

"Uncle Tom" (Laurie's brother) was our first family visitor, coming to check out the new digs from Los Angeles. As a house warming present he put the Xmas lights up, which we probably wouldn't have done (opting instead to play in the snow?). Thanks Tom! It gives our new place the holiday spirit and brightens up the darkest time of the year in this northern latitude.

Primary Colors Snowboard Film Premier Last Night

Ian Clark is a friend of Shane that we've gotten to know. An art major with a creative eye who just produced this snowboard video featuring Montana riders doing there thing, including Shane. Looked great on the big screen, with a packed house. Hat's off to these guys for doing their thing, exploring their passion, and documenting it so well. A great documentary of how their pushing snowboarding in all seasons and in all environments (urban and natural). Heres the teaser for his film, which will give you an idea of what they're up to....
